Olive is a new brand to the UK and new to us too. It offers a high quality method of transferring all your CD collection into a single, cd-player-sized unit, all with the benefit of touchscreen control. Add wireless connectivity to another Olive "Player" in another room and your music collection is available all around the house. iPhone app remote control also available on this product.
Amplifiers:
We all still need an amplifier and some of the modern designs are showing the development of amplifier technology. Firestone Audio produce their tiny box designs that create amazing audio, not just for a lifestyle/desktop system but maybe even for your home hi-fi system. If you want full size, look no further than Creek's Destiny 2 amplifier or, if budget isn't a problem, listening to the Tom Evans range will have you reaching for your wallet.
Headphone amplifiers - mobile or home use are catered for here and more and more people are listening via headphones these days. iBasso
are a favourite if you want most toys for your buck, whilst Graham Slee continues to produce award winning products such as the Novo Headphone Amplifier.
CD Players:
Who buys cd players now? Isn't it all on your computer? Not necessarily. There is still a loyal following and companies like Stello
are producing dedicated cd transports and DACs with USB input for computer as well as hi-fi use. This market is set to continue.
Speakers:
Another must-have for your system. Usher Audio's S-520 is still the benchmark budget speaker and their BE718 "Tiny Dancer" standmount is hard to beat.
For floorstanders, we're big fans of the Monopulse range. With their quirky looks and excellent sound quality, they surprise many a customer.

Here we head straight for Graham Slee. Now that he has embraced moving coil designs in his product range to match the well established moving magnet designs, he's set to continue to get those top reviews and awards gongs.
Tweaks!
We're always a bit skeptical but Telos Audio have surprised us with their "caps" that fit over unused sockets on the back of your components and improve the sound! We kid you not.
Enacom noise filters have something of cult following, available for speakers, line connections and mains. Finally, Fidelity Audio is a local favourite, producing its No Noise series of RFI/EMI killers that really work and are cheaper than a well-known brand equivalent.
